Doringbay Event_Youth Day

DORINGBAY - The first event that took place in Doringbay for 2010, was a big success. As reported last month, this event formed part of the forum's outputs for 2010/11, to make the youth more involved in this project.

The day started off with a soccer tournament held between the forum members against one other team from Doringbay. Though the forum wasn't successful in winning their first game, it was sure packed with fun and laughter.

The visitors to the centre on that day, was introduced to the services that are being rendered at the e-centre in Doringbay and also what they can expect with their first visit to the centre. The main output for this event was to make the children feel more at ease when visiting the centre, and through surfing on the web for information about soccer scores, their favourite teams; it also gave them a sence of selfworth and respect when they printed out these information.

The event ended of by handing gifts to the best soccer player and best goal keeper for the day.
