Saturnus Primary School is situated in Toekomsrus, Oudtshoorn, a Karoo Town associated with ostrich farming. Learners come from impoverished informal settlements, sub-economic housing areas and surrounding farms. Unemployment and the associated social problems affect the education of these learners. Learners receive some of their meals at school.
Despite these debilitating social problems, the school strives for excellence in cultural, sport and academic spheres. The installation of computers from Cape Access, in the venue that the school established from their own funds, was a dream that became reality. They could immediately begin work with the learners and one could see the look of joy on their faces when they mastered even the simplest of tasks.
We also provide:
1. Free internet access to the Community.
2. Assisting with printing and resources for school projects.
3. Fax, emails, photocopies.
