Research Methodology and Findings Compiled by e Viwe Members

  1. Background Research

A community research was done by e Viwe members in consultation with the community of Mossel Bay but merely focusing on particular areas and institutions. This research was lead by Ms. Zimasa Swartbooi (Community Researcher) and this started on June 2009 until August 2009. Approximately [107] research papers were completed. There were no major changes that were done on the document that was provided from the office of the Library Business Corner or Cape Access.

Some of the difficulties that were experienced by members that some of them was the first to do and compiled a research and result we had do revisit each and every research document.  It became very clear to us that some of the community members had reservation around the language, long questions and illiteracy from Old Citizen. This gave rise to a situation were members had to go through the questionnaires together with community members for them to understand.  This was common to from those who done the research.

This research also created expectation and excitement to the community was an opportunity for them to identify their needs and the will be some or institution that might deal with those. Because some of the research was also done at the centre, the community could see a light at the end of the tunnel as saw equipment already operating. These expectations were as challenged by a number of issues, that is, electricity cuts, failure of internet connections especially from Telkom and the intended commence of practical training.
