Computer Literacy – Training Project

 

         This project is a continued project from 2008

         Since 2008, 15 people is being trained in the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and how to use the Internet

         The training level will be adjusted as the training continues.

 

 

§        Responsible members

The administrators who received Microsoft Training will be responsible for training.

 

§        When

This is a continued project from 2008 that take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings as well as Saturdays. Time of the training will be affected by the availability of the people.

 

 

§        Infrastructure needed

As more people get interested in training, more computers will be needed.

A projector is also needed for the training to be more affective

 

§        Awareness / Advertising

The training will be advertise in the quarterly newsletter and posters/flyers will be handed out

 

§        Impact

The community will learn the basics of how to use the computer e.g. to type their own CV’s, letters etc. and to use Microsoft Word and Excel and to give a basic presentation.

They will receive a certificate of attendance

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eye on the Youth

 

 

§       This project involves taking youth members of the different churches out for the weekend to a resort with activities and motivational speakers to restore their social values.

 

 

n     Responsible members

 

·        The Administrators will lead this project working together with all the forum members in the planning of the project.

 

n     When

 

·        This project will take place on a weekend in September or October 2010

 

 

n     Infrastructure needed

 

·        A suitable vehicle (bus) and venue will be needed for this project

 

n     Awareness/Advertising

 

·        The youth leaders of the churches will be informed as well as flyers will be handed out.

 

n     Impact

 

·        The youth of the community will be uplifted and they will be more aware of the dangers of drug abuse, teenage pregnancy etc.

·        We aim to restore the norms and values of the youth of Genadendal and surrounded towns

 

 

 

Disable Rally

 

§       This project involves the disable members of Genadendal and surrounding areas participating in a rally with community members sponsoring them.

 

n    Responsible members

 

·       The Diversity facilitator, Treasurer, Community researcher and the Webmaster will lead the project working together with the rest of the forum members.

 

n    When

 

·       This project will take place on National Disability Day 3 December 2010

 

n    Infrastructure  needed

 

·       A suitable venue (local sport grounds) will be used for this project.

 

n    Awareness/Advertising

 

·       This project will be advertised in the quarterly newspaper, on the website as well as the local newspapers.

 

n    Impact

 

·       The community will be more aware of the disable people in Genadendal as well as the surrounded towns.

 

Cape Access is a community development project which sees ICTs as tools to be used in building knowledge and creating opportunities.
