 Computer Literacy – Training Project

 

         This project is a continued project from 2008

 

         Since 2008, 15 people is being trained in the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and how to use the Internet

 

         The training level will be adjusted as the training continues.

 

 

§        Responsible members

One of the administrators will be responsible for this project until a training officer will be appointed.

 

§        When

This is a continued project from 2008 that take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings as well as Saturdays. Time of the training will be affected by the availability of the people.

 

 

§        Infrastructure needed

As more people get interested in training, more computers will be needed.

 

§        Awareness / Advertising

The training will be advertise in the quarterly newsletter and posters

 

§        Impact

The community will learn the basics of how to use the computer e.g. to type their own CV’s, letters etc. and to use Microsoft Word and Excel

 

They can also apply for jobs as they will have the necessary training and accredited certification

 

 

 

  

 

Table of Peace and Unity Project

 

 

§        We will host a table of peace and unity for leaders of different organizations. The event will be in the form of a lunch, with different speakers, and by taking a special moment in breaking of bread symbolizing our unity in Genadendal.

 

§        Invite all the leaders of community of different organizations

 

§        Guest speakers will invited :

 

1.     Dept. of Agriculture / Jozua Lambrets

 

2.     Cassie Carstens – Talk about Unity

 

n     Responsible members

The community researcher, webmaster, project officer and NPO will be responsible for this project

 

n     When

This project will take place Saturday or Sunday nearest to 27 April 2010

 

n     Infrastructure needed

A suitable venue will be hired to host the table of unity, or outside where a huge long table (circle) will be formed

 

n     Awareness/Advertising

Invitations will be sent to different organizations in Genadendal, Bereaville, Greyton and Voorstekraal

 

n     Impact

The community will be aware of how the e-centre can help with unity and peace in the community. We will focus on Agriculture this year and how the e-centre can help the agriculture (and others) through technology

 

 

 

 

 

 

Competition: Logo for e-Centre

 

 

§       This project involves the participation of members of the community to design a logo and name for the e-centre.

§       A prize will be awarded to the best design and name

 

 

n    Responsible members

The community researcher, marketing officer and PRO will be responsible for this project

 

n    When

          This project will start in September 2009

 

n    Infrastructure needed

          No infrastructure will be needed for this project

 

n    Awareness/Advertising

          Posters, Flyers and announcement in newsletter

 

n    Impact

The logo of the e-centre will be decided by the community so the community will feel more involved with the e-forum

 

 

 

News Letter

 

§       This project involves the quarterly distributing of a newsletter to inform the community of the happenings around Genadendal e-Centre

 

§       The e-Centre will also be promoted in the newsletter as well as the daily activities of the e-centre and the projects of the e-forum

 

§       The e-Forum will be introduce to the community

 

§       The community will be informed of activities of the e-Centre and beware of the projects for the year. 

 

n    Responsible members

All forum members will be responsible for this project to get

information, news and photos to put in the newsletter. The project and media officer will be in charge of the whole project.

 

n    When

This will be a quarterly project with the first edition in September

 

n    Infrastructure  needed

          No infrastructure will be needed for this project

 

n    Impact

The community will be aware of the activities of the e-centre and also the projects of the e-Forum

Cape Access is a community development project which sees ICTs as tools to be used in building knowledge and creating opportunities.
