E-power to the People
The Cape Access project is part of the centre for e-Innovation's strategy to stimulate economic competitiveness by providing the means for the citizen of the Western Cape to participate in the emerging knowledge economy. The strategy recognizes information and communication technology (ICT) as a key enabler of the economic development and growth of the Western Cape.
Cape Access aims to ensure that the public has access to the necessary technology infrastructure to interact with government, business and with each other, electronically.
Latest e-Centres
Cape Access has now established e-Centres at the following locations:
- Bitterfontein Library
- Van Rhynsdorp Multi-purpose Centre
- Elim Community Center
- Struisbaai Library
- Bongolethu Library, Oudtshoorn
- Conville Primary, George
- Louwville Library-Vredenburg
- St Augustine Primary - Paternoster
- Thembalethu Thusong Centre- George
- St James Anglican Church - Klawer
- Matzikamma Municipal Hall - Doringbaai
- Genadendal Library - Genadendal
- Saturnus Primary School - Toekomsrus
- Beaufort West Secondary School - Beaufort West
Through the Cape Access project and community structures called e-Community forums have been established. Their role is to drive information society projects at local levels and manage the e-Centres.

- Elim e-Community Forum in Elim
- Bua e-Community Forum in Struisbaai
- George e-Community Forum

- Sesonke.com e-Community Forum in Beaufort West
- Vredenburg/Paternoster e-Community Forum in Vredenburg
